SprintDuo Terms of Service
1. Who provides the service
The SprintDuo app and related services (the "Service") are provided by 8CELLS Jarosław Kaczmarski, based in Poland, a sole trader registered in the Polish Central Register and Information on Economic Activity (CEIDG), tax ID (NIP) 7962621938, REGON 366811404 ("we", "us"). Contact: hi@sprintduo.app. The postal address for written correspondence is listed in our CEIDG entry (search by tax ID at biznes.gov.pl).
These are terms of service within the meaning of the Polish Act on Providing Services by Electronic Means. We make them available free of charge before you create an Account, in a form you can save and print. How we process personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. The App is available in many languages, and these terms are available in each of them. If the language versions differ, the Polish version prevails; this does not limit the rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
Terms used here:
- App – the SprintDuo mobile app for iOS and Android.
- Account – your individual account in the App, linked to your phone number.
- Couple – a connection between two Accounts that both people have agreed to.
- Partner – the person you form a Couple with.
- Your content – your answers to the daily question, your choices and guesses in mini games, your messages and your saved games.
- Editorial content – questions, games and other materials created by the SprintDuo team.
2. What SprintDuo is
SprintDuo is an app for people who are already in a relationship. It helps a couple give each other a moment of attention every day. You can:
- answer the daily question – you see your Partner's answer only once you have both answered;
- play short mini games in which you pick your own answer and guess your Partner's;
- write messages under completed activities and save games for later;
- together with your Partner, switch on the optional "Closeness & intimacy" topic;
- set reminders on your phone and get notifications about your Partner's activity;
- download a copy of your data and delete your Account at any time.
The Service is for private, non-commercial use.
3. Who can use SprintDuo
SprintDuo is only for people aged 18 or over; by creating an Account you confirm that you are. Use your own phone number, one that you use and can receive text messages on – never someone else's number or name.
You need a smartphone with a version of iOS or Android supported by the App (see the app store), internet access and the ability to receive text messages. Your operator's data charges apply.
Online services carry common risks, such as malware and attempts to trick you into revealing codes. Never share your SMS code or PIN, even with someone who claims to be from SprintDuo.
4. Your agreement and your Account
You sign in with your phone number and a one-time SMS code; SprintDuo does not use passwords. When you create an Account, you enter a name or nickname (up to 40 characters) that your Partner will see, confirm that you are 18 or over and accept these terms. This creates an agreement for electronic services for an indefinite period. Each Account is linked to one phone number. You can change your name in the App at any time.
5. Keeping your Account secure
Access to your Account depends on your phone number, so look after your phone and SIM card. If you lose them, secure your number with your operator and contact us. You can set an optional 6-digit PIN (two-step verification) that protects your Account even if someone takes over your number. A forgotten PIN can be reset after a 7-day waiting period, and your Partner will be informed – this protects you against account takeover.
6. Pairing with your Partner
You can invite a specific person by entering their phone number. The Couple is created only when that person signs in with that number and explicitly accepts. Invitations expire after 72 hours. The invited person can decline or block the sender – the sender is not told. Only invite someone you are in a relationship with and who may expect your invitation.
Each Account can belong to one active Couple at a time. A Couple ends when either person disconnects it in the App or deletes their Account. Your former Partner then loses access to your shared content, including your answers and messages, and you lose access to theirs.
7. The "Closeness & intimacy" topic
Its questions appear only when you have both switched it on, and your Partner cannot see which of you did. Answers may reveal information about your sex life, so we process them only with your explicit consent, which you give in the App when you switch the topic on. You can withdraw it at any time by switching the topic off – your earlier answers, messages and reactions under these questions will then be deleted. See our Privacy Policy.
8. Acceptable use
Use SprintDuo lawfully and with respect for your Partner. In particular, you must not:
- harass, intimidate, insult or blackmail your Partner or anyone else;
- send unlawful content, including content that infringes other people's rights;
- use the App to control, track or monitor anyone, including pressuring someone to answer or checking someone else's phone;
- use someone else's phone number, impersonate anyone or share your Account;
- disrupt the Service, get around its security or extract data from it automatically.
Your safety matters more than any app. If you feel unsafe in your relationship, contact your local emergency services (112 across the European Union) or a support line. In Poland you can call "Niebieska Linia", the helpline for people experiencing domestic violence: 800 120 002.
9. Your content
Your content belongs to you. You only give us a non-exclusive, free licence to store, encrypt, process and display it to you and your Partner, to the extent and for as long as needed to provide the Service. We do not use your content for advertising and do not sell it. Answers, game choices and messages are encrypted in our database on the server, with keys we manage – this is not end-to-end encryption. You are responsible for what you send; only share information about others that you have the right to share.
Reporting illegal content
If you believe content in the Service is illegal or breaks these terms, write to hi@sprintduo.app, explaining what it concerns and why, with your contact details. We will handle your report without undue delay. If we restrict content or an Account, we will tell the person concerned why and how to appeal, unless the law prevents it.
Content in SprintDuo is visible only to the two people in a Couple – we do not publish it or make it public. Our point of contact for users and for the authorities of EU Member States and the European Commission under the Digital Services Act (DSA) is hi@sprintduo.app; we communicate in Polish and English.
10. Editorial content
Questions and games are written by the SprintDuo team, based on research on relationships, for conversation and reflection. They are not therapy or psychological, medical or legal advice and do not replace a professional. If you are going through a crisis, contact a professional or a support service. Editorial content is protected by copyright; you may use it in the App for private purposes.
11. Prices and payments
During the beta, SprintDuo is free and the App accepts no payments. We may later introduce a paid plan, Duo+, for both people in a Couple. If we do:
- we will announce it in advance and show the price and conditions before you buy;
- paid features will be sold only through the App Store or Google Play, under their rules;
- we will never charge you automatically – a paid feature is activated only if you buy it.
You manage and cancel any subscription in your store settings: App Store or Google Play.
12. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep SprintDuo running smoothly, but it is a beta: interruptions may happen, for example due to maintenance, outages or issues at our providers. We may develop and change features. If a change significantly and negatively affects your access to or use of the Service, we will tell you in advance, and you may terminate the agreement under the Polish Consumer Rights Act.
13. Ending the agreement
You can leave at any time by deleting your Account in the App (Us → Danger zone → Delete account) or by writing to us. As a consumer, you can also withdraw from the agreement within 14 days without giving a reason – delete your Account or send us a statement.
We may terminate the agreement or block an Account if:
- it was created by a minor or with someone else's phone number;
- you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, especially section 8, after being asked to stop (no warning is needed if someone's safety is at risk);
- we stop providing the Service – with 30 days' notice, so you can download your data first.
14. Liability
We are responsible for the Service conforming to the agreement under the Polish Consumer Rights Act. Each person is responsible for their own content, so we are not responsible for your Partner's content or behaviour, nor for interruptions caused by force majeure, mobile operators or app stores, unless the law provides otherwise. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
15. Complaints
If the Service does not work properly or as described here, send a complaint to hi@sprintduo.app or by post to the correspondence address in our CEIDG entry. Describe the problem, when it happened and how to reach you; do not include your answers or messages unless needed. We will reply within 14 days of receiving it; if we do not, your complaint is deemed accepted.
You can also get free help from a local consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or use out-of-court dispute resolution, for example before the Trade Inspection (Inspekcja Handlowa). This is voluntary.
16. Governing law
Polish law applies. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of that country's mandatory consumer laws and can bring a case before the courts where you live.
17. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for valid reasons, such as changes in the law or in features, the introduction of paid features or security needs. We will notify you with a notice in the App at least 14 days before changes take effect and publish the new version on sprintduo.app. If you do not accept them, you can delete your Account before then.
